JC DartJC is an online professional with experience in print and digital media. Her journey began as a web designer at a newspaper and has led her to develop into a skilled Web Administrator. Jennifer excels at integrating diverse online entities and unifying them with creative strategies to establish a powerful online identity. With a BFA in Fine Arts, she hopes to leverage her creative prowess to craft innovative solutions and shape Capitol News Illinois' online presence. When she’s not at work, JC can be found hiking trails in the Shawnee National Forest.

WHEN SHE’S NOT WORKING WITH CNI: Beyond her professional life, you can find Jennifer immersed in the arts: painting, drawing, mixed media art, and photography. She enjoys spending time with her daughter who is also a talented artist (an aerialist who tours the US and abroad). Jennifer, however, prefers to keep her feet squarely on the ground finding inspiration exploring the outdoors, hiking the trails of the Shawnee National Forest and other natural spaces. Donovan, her handsome Siamese cat, makes sure she’s up and ready for work every day at 4am.

WHY SHE JOINED CNI: "My goal is to create an online presence that highlights the integrity of CNI's investigative journalism and Statehouse reporting while also engaging the audience with the digital storytelling tools that have the power to bring stories to life.”

WHAT SHE WANTS YOU TO KNOW ABOUT CNI: “Capitol News Illinois is not just another news outlet; it's a vital resource for the people of Illinois, helping citizens stay informed and engaged in the matters that affect their lives.”

WHERE SHE SEES CNI IN THE FUTURE: "CNI is a dedicated advocate for transparency, accountability, and justice for all Illinoisans. Capitol News Illinois is constantly looking for new ways to use technology to make our content more engaging and accessible to newsrooms across the state in an effort to support a more informed citizenry.”
